Obstetricians and gynecologists are specially trained to provide medical care to women, including during and after pregnancy. These skills are particularly needed to provide care to women who have serious injuries or illness associated with mass casualty events and disease outbreaks. The measure indicates a state's capacity to provide specialized women’s health services during emergencies and in routine care situations. |
