The findings were: 1. Observation of resident #1 on 3/12/19 at 5 PM showed the resident was on contact isolation for extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) in the urine. Continued observation showed the resident's Foley catheter bag was uncovered and lying on the floor. a. Interview on 3/12/19 at 5:14 PM with RN #2 revealed the Foley bag should always be off the floor and covered. b. During an interview on 3/13/19 at 2 PM the infection control nurse stated the expectation was that catheter bags should be covered and not laying on the ground. | 2020-09-01 |
