The facility did not distribute resident mail on Saturdays, although mail was available for delivery on this day of the week. This had the potential to affect more than an isolated number of residents. Facility census: 55. Findings include: a) During an interview, on 04/23/13 at 3:30 p.m., the resident council president (Resident #3), stated residents do not receive mail on Saturdays. The activity director, Employee #25, was interviewed at 4:04 p.m. on 04/23/13. She stated the mail comes to the storage department at the hospital and We don't deliver the mail on Saturdays. The administrator, Employee #5, was interviewed on 04/23/13 at 4:22 p.m. She stated the facility shares a post office box at the post office with the hospital next door, who also owns the nursing facility. The mail is picked up and sorted by hospital personnel on Monday through Friday and no one from the hospital picks up the mail on Saturdays. | 2017-03-01 |
