Resident #78 had a medical history of [REDACTED]. Resident identifier: #78. Facility census: 89. Findings include: a) Resident #78 On 01/20/09 at 8:15 a.m., observation found maintenance staff was painting the wall in this resident's room. The resident was still in bed, no morning care had been provided, and breakfast had not been served at this time. The room smelled strongly of paint. Medical record review revealed Resident #78's [DIAGNOSES REDACTED]. This practice put the resident at risk for respiratory distress and can contribute to a poor appetite. This resident should have been moved to another area of the facility prior to the room being painted. During an interview on 01/21/09 at 3:30 p.m., the director of nursing (DON - Employee #62) agreed the room should not have been painted while the resident was in the room. . | 2014-03-01 |
