Findings include: 1. Interview on 1/31/17 at 11:35 a.m. with certified nursing assistant (CNA) B revealed: *Lift slings were usually stored on the lift and were used for multiple residents. *The lifts should have been wiped off between residents, but that was not always done. *Slings were sent to laundry when visibly soiled. Interview on 2/1/17 at 7:20 a.m. with CNA C revealed: *Lift slings were used for multiple residents. *Slings were sent to laundry only when visibly soiled. *Lifts were not always wiped off between residents use. Interview on 2/1/17 at 7:25 a.m. with the administrator and the director of nursing revealed: *When slings were visibly dirty they would send them to laundry. *Management had talked about getting everyone their own sling. *Lifts were to have been wiped down every night. Review of the (MONTH) (YEAR) Safe Lifting and Moving of a Resident policy revealed residents would have been provided with single-resident use disposable slings. | 2020-09-01 |
