This was true for one (1) of six (6) residents reviewed for the care area of unnecessary medications during Stage 2 of the Quality Indicator Survey. Resident Identifiers: #235. Facility Census: 180. Findings Include: a) Resident #235 A review of Resident #235's medical record at 9:24 a.m. on 09/06/17 found the following physician progress notes [REDACTED]. Plan: For Pneumonia- completed [MEDICATION NAME] 2 days ago. Cough and Congestion have improved. Will Continue [MEDICATION NAME] for 5 more days and monitor. EXG - NSR, [MEDICAL CONDITION] resolved at this time but will continue to monitor heart rate. Will Check CBC (complete blood count) and CMP in the AM. The Interim Director of Nursing (DON) shortly after this review was asked to provide the results of the CBC and CMP which should have been obtained on 06/23/17. At 11:46 a.m. on 09/06/17 the interim DON reported she did not have the requested lab results. She stated, there was never an order put in for it and they never obtained it. | 2020-09-01 |
