Review of the medical record on 9/24/12 revealed a document titled Preferred Intensity of Medical Care and Treatment signed by the resident's Power of Attorney. Further review revealed that the resident had not been deemed incompetent by two physicians to make health care decisions. The resident was a new admit and at the time of the survey was alert and oriented x 3. On 9/26/12, during an interview with the Unit Manager, he/she confirmed that there was no paperwork on the chart to authorize another to make healthcare decisions for the resident. | 2016-12-01 |
